Mechanic got a 'fuck you' and last salary in 91,500 booth – now workshop is convicted for breaking the law

It wasn't really about a lot of money – but still ended up being really expensive for a car repair shop.

Andreas Flaten worked until January 2021 as a mechanic at the auto workshop A Ok Walker Autoworks in the US state of Georgia. But the last bank note was very slow. When the money – 915 dollars corresponding to DKK 6,229 – finally arrived, it was in a wheelbarrow filled with 91,500 pennies. At the time, the American authorities did not think that Andreas Flaten would have to put up with such treatment. That is why the workshop was initially taken to court, and now the case has come to an end. And it has become really expensive for the workshop. Because in court it emerged that the owner of the workshop has not paid a number of mechanics a higher wage for a number of overtime hours. He is now condemned to pay that. This appears from a decision from the Americans' response to the Labor Court – US Department of Labor. READ ALSO: Aarhus wants to ban cars – but it CANNOT be done, says researcher And it's happening. Specifically, the owner of the workshop – Miles Walker – must pay 40,000 dollars to a total of nine mechanics he has employed. And not only that. Miles Walker must never again mention the case publicly, and he must remove any social media posts that he used to mention the case. Miles Walker has otherwise spent a lot of time writing many angry posts on Facebook about the matter. Here he accuses i.a. the media for lying in their coverage of the case. – With the verdict, the court has sent a very clear message to employers like Miles Walker, who intimidate and pay their employees in completely unfair ways, says a representative from the US authorities.
