Volvo recalls all EX30 – speedometer not working

Volvo is now recalling all copies of the EX30 as it has emerged that the speedometer may not work. It concerns 72,000 cars.

Swedish-Chinese Volvo is not just moving production from China to Europe for fear of increased tariffs on their cars. Read more about it here .

The brand must now issue a recall of all copies of the EX30. This concerns 72,000 cars. The new Volvo is either on its way to new owners or is already in garages and driving around.

We have already described the error here on Boosted. But actually, there's more than one fault plaguing the little new Volvo that's identical to the Smart #1.

However, what makes Volvo recall the many cars is the screen for the infotainment system and many of the car's other functions. The owners say that the screen goes into a kind of demo mode. And therefore becomes useless.

This also means that the speedometer disappears. Volvo itself has said that the errors experienced by EX30 owners are due to software problems. Something the car brand believes it can fix with an update.

There is just the problem that this kind of thing is also a problem in certain EX30 models. Several owners are reporting errors that mean their cars cannot be connected to the internet.

Therefore, it is also impossible to download a possible new update. However, Volvo also has a solution to that problem, they say. Read more about it here .
