Fisker has 150 employees left – now more are to be fired

On social media, the remaining Fisker employees express that the distance between colleagues is getting longer and longer.

Fisker Inc. looks most like a car brand teetering on the brink of bankruptcy.

And now a number of the few remaining employees say that the management is in the process of handing out even more dismissal notices.

That's what Automotive News writes.

However, the dismissal notices can hardly come behind the remaining approximately 150 employees who survived the fact that Fisker Inc. cut the staff down from just over 1,150 men. On Wednesday 29 May, all men were asked to work from home to participate in an online fashion.

According to BusinessInsider , who has spoken to four anonymous employees, the sole purpose of the move was to inform about the round of layoffs. All of this allegedly happened in an attempt to keep Fisker Inc. alive.

A car brand that obviously can't pay its bills. As a consequence, Fisker Inc. just saw a loan of around 3.5 million dollars being withdrawn with demands for an immediate transfer of the amount.

However, Fisker's wavering does not only extend to Henrik Fisker himself. Magna Steyr, which he hired in his time to build his cars, also has pockets of pain as a result of the expected bankruptcy.

The Austrian car manufacturer's accounts show that Magna Steyr expects to lose DKK 2.7 billion due to Fisker ceasing production. The factory has also said goodbye to 500 employees because it is not expected that production will start again.

For its part, Fisker is now increasingly desperately trying to thin out the stock of cars from last year. According to the Danish industry analyst Rene Tonder, the car brand risks burning down with 5,000 cars.
