The next Camaro will be an electric car, says Chevrolet boss

If General Motors' CEO has his way, the next Chevrolet Camaro will be an electric car. But not a new Mustang Mach-E.

The Chevrolet Camaro disappeared from this world last December. And although there are currently no plans for a replacement, this does not mean that the car is completely dead.

That's what Motortrend writes.

In an interview with the media, General Motors CEO Mark Reuss says that he would like to see the name resurrected. But this time on an electric car.

Mark Reuss, whose first car was actually a 1967 Camaro, wants the car to go back to basics. Namely a so-called pony car. Something which, however, if Chevrolet can make the decision, should not only appeal to the enthusiast who increases horsepower.

Mark Reuss even imagines that a new Camaro can hold a price around 35,000 dollars in the United States. This corresponds to the price the new Equinox, which is a crossover, will be sold for when it rolls out to dealers later this year.

However, nothing has been decided yet. And the General Motors top executive's announcement also stands in stark contrast to the announcement from Ford. Here, chief executive Jim Farley has promised to keep alive the Mustang model with a V8 engine. 'Whether we're going to be the last to do it', it was. Read more about the ceiling here.
