It is not just here at home that several companies in the car industry are currently turning their backs. Just on the other side of the Øresund, the fight for survival is just as tough.
A Swedish car dealer went bankrupt in May, which is otherwise considered the worst since a financial crisis hit the country in 1994.
A total of 887 Swedish limited companies went bankrupt in the month of May this year. One of them was the car dealer FordonsCompaniet in the town of Karlskrona, which had to close.
All this despite a turnover of 120 million Swedish kroner, equivalent to 80 million Danish kroner.
The car dealer is described as one of the largest in the area, but a wild turnover has not been seen on the bottom line. The same was otherwise the case for another major car dealer in Sweden.

Despite a turnover of 61 million Swedish kroner – 40 million Danish kroner – distributed among 9 employees, there was nothing to be done, and the closure is already a reality.
– Too bad sales too long forte for this. Interest rates have obviously also played a role.
– I find it difficult to see that we can run a car business in the future, it is a very tough industry, says managing director Mattias Dahlgren, according to Carup .
