Celebrity faces 10 years in prison for shooting at Lamborghini

From a helicopter, YouTuber Alex Chio bombarded a Lamborghini Huracan with fireworks. Now he is charged with a crime that could result in 10 years behind bars.

Alex Chio, whose real name is Suk Min Choi, was until this week in the custody of the US authorities because of a YouTube video.

The video, published on July 4 last year, shows Chio with at least two others shooting fireworks from a helicopter at a Lamborghini.

The problem? The necessary permits had not been obtained for some of the parts. For the same reason, the police in California have now charged Suk Min Choi with 'placing explosives on aircraft'.

Explosives, or rather fireworks, which he used to aim at a Lamborghini. This is what the public prosecutor in California writes in a press release on Thursday this week.

The investigation has taken the authorities almost a year. And Min Choi is primarily targeted because the YouTuber several times calls himself the 'film's' instructor.

However, the authorities also believe that the YouTuber traveled to Los Angeles to buy the fireworks, which are illegal in California. However, the video has already had consequences.

The pilot who flew the helicopter through the chase lost his license to fly back in January this year. All because of the video.

On Thursday this week, Choi appeared in court, where he was initially released on bail of 50,000 dollars, equivalent to 342,000 Danish kroner.

However, the YouTuber is not necessarily free for very long. As early as July 2, he will appear in court again, where the charges against him will be officially read out. If Choi is convicted, he risks up to 10 years in prison, according to the prosecution.

The video itself is no longer on Chio's social media. But because the Internet never forgets, it has been made available in several other places.
