Scandal mobile phone company will also build electric cars

The nearest competitor has received an insane number of orders, but at least as many beatings for an electric car that is poorly built. However, Huawei now also wants to build electric cars.

Scandal-stricken Huawei now also wants to enter the car market with an electric car. In fact, the Chinese venture already has a name. It's called the Stelato S9.

And things like that don't necessarily go well every time. Huawei just has to look at competitor Xiaomi to find out.

The Xiaomi SU7, even though the Chinese have ordered one in droves, is a car full of bugs. There are stories about cars braking by themselves, and cars that cannot be repaired after just 40 kilometers. Read more about it here .

Still, Huawei, which in Denmark is best known for an espionage case against TDC in 2019, will now try its hand at an electric car.

This is what Car News China writes.

Stelato S9 has been developed in collaboration with Group (BAIC). According to the mobile phone brand, it can hold a price from 52,800 euros, corresponding to a little over 400,000 Danish kroner.

In fact, it is already possible to pre-order copies of the car, which will be delivered to the first customers as early as August. At least if Huawei's production plan holds true.

But that's not all. The Chinese believe that the Stelato S9 can and must compete with the Audi A8 and Mercedes S-Class and cover 800 kilometers on the same charge.

When it comes to horsepower, there are at least 308 units to match in the version with one electric motor. If an additional electric motor is placed on the front axle, the performance increases to 522 horsepower. We need that in an A8 with a W12 engine or an S8 with a 4-liter V8 engine to be able to match.
