18-year-old short 157 km/h – now she owes her father a Tesla

An 18-year-old Swedish woman, who has had a driving license for just 3 months, has smashed her father's Tesla Model 3 at a whopping 157 km/h. The car revealed her.

The computer in a smashed Tesla Model 3 has revealed the speed that a very young driver missed when she smashed her father's car.

According to the police, the young woman was illegally street racing in an industrial area on the outskirts of the Swedish town of Eskilstuna when things went wrong.

In addition to the 18-year-old woman, four of her friends were in the car, when the car was speeding at 157 km/h, where the maximum permitted speed is 50 km/h.

Eskilstuna-Kuriren writes that.

The testimonies of the people who sat in the back seat of the Tesla differed somewhat in court. But it is certain that the young woman lost control of the car when the otherwise straight road suddenly turned into a bend.

Due to the high speed that could subsequently be read in the car, the insurance company refuses to cover the costs of the repair, which amount to almost a quarter of a million Danish kroner.

In court, the young woman chose to say that she was surprised by an animal that jumped out in front of the car, and that in the confusion she pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.

However, that explanation was not bought by either the insurance company or the district court. Among other things, because data from the car does not indicate that the speed was due to a very sudden reaction.

For the same reason, the district court chose to take the choir card from the young woman. Just as she has been given a suspended prison sentence for particularly reckless driving. As part of the sentence, the woman must perform 50 hours of community service.
