Celebrity conviction – now the state crushes his Porsche 911

A Porsche 911 Turbo assembled from parts from at least four stolen cars does not work. Nor in Sweden, where the authorities will now crush the car belonging to a celebrity.

It's a really bad idea to steal from others.

In Sweden, there is a risk that the authorities, if it is discovered, will demand that an otherwise dog-like Porsche 911 Turbo be crushed and that you have to pay a high compensation.

It has happened to Rickard "The Supramannen" Cornacchini. Swedish police believe that his converted Porsche 911 Turbo is composed of parts from at least 4 stolen cars.

And both the city and county courts have now given the police the right. However, the case has taken almost 4 years to resolve after the Supramann was initially stopped during a routine check in Stockholm.

At first, the officers became suspicious when the registration number did not match the car they had stopped. The car was therefore impounded and examined more closely.

It rolled out a case involving parts from at least 4 stolen Porsches. According to the police, among other things, the engine and gearbox in the car came from another Porsche, which had been reported stolen from a car park in Stockholm in 2016.

When the case reached the district court, Supramannen claimed that he could show several receipts that should prove that the Porsche was rebuilt in a completely legal way and with legally obtained parts.

However, neither the prosecution nor the judge believed that. The case ended with a suspended prison sentence and 140 daily fines totaling SEK 35,000 and compensation to a number of insurance companies.

The appeal did not improve either. So for the Superman. Because even though the fine has been reduced to 28,000 Swedish kroner – just under 19,000 Danish kroner – the district court has concluded that the car must be destroyed. However, two jurors wanted to acquit the Porsche owner of all charges.
