Peugeot rejects – is no longer a brand with fast cars

Peugeot does not go up in performance anymore. At least not if you ask director Linda Jackson. However, she does not rule out returning with such cars one day.

Peugeot once made both fast and entertaining cars.

But that time is over. At least when it comes to street cars. The brand's managing director Linda Jackson says in a new interview that this kind of thing is no longer in focus.

That's what Top Gear writes.

Instead, Linda Jackson takes the opportunity to talk a little about how the brand still fits in the endurance series WEC. And thus also the world's hardest 24-hour race at the Le Mans track, Circuit de la Sarthe, in France.

It's all about, Jackson says, having a showcase for tomorrow's technology. A place to develop and use it.

– The WEC gives us the opportunity to talk about Peugeot. Not only when it comes to street cars, but also in terms of the durability and engineering behind it.

– I think it should be seen as a laboratory. You can test several things right down to design elements. Our three-part light structure appeared, for example, on the 9X8 racing car, because it happened on the street cars.

– We can develop everything from undercarriage to hybrid technology and aerodynamics for use in the street cars in this way, says Jackson.

The same Linda Jackson acknowledges that all electric cars are similar. Still, she is adamant that the car industry is heading towards electrification. Read more about it here .
