Hyundai sued by angry motorists: "Our cars are crumbling"

The cars are only a few years old. However, the varnish on them has already started to come off. So now a number of angry motorists are suing Hyundai.

Hyundai has got a serious lawsuit on its neck.

Several owners of the Genesis model are very dissatisfied with the fact that large parts of the paint on their cars, which are often only a few years old, are falling off.

According to the many angry motorists, the cars are at most two to three years old when the paint starts to fall off the car. In fact, it's so bad that white cars apparently take on an orange hue within that short period of time.

That's what Top Class Actions writes.

The angry motorists believe that Hyundai could have easily avoided the problem. Because they don't think they have seen anything similar in other car brands with cars of the same age.

Now the drivers want Hyundai to cough up compensation of up to 1,800 dollars per vehicle. car. Plus the actual trial and legal fees.

However, the American motorists are not the only ones who seem to have problems with the paint used by Hyundai. The Facebook group 'Hyundai Paint Peel / Peeling' has over 2,300 members, while a corresponding one in Australia has 2,000 members.

Images of Hyundai models with huge paint problems are shared here daily. It is even crazy about the color of cars that are also sold in Denmark. Models such as: i20, i30, Tucson and Santa Fe.

What the cause is, or whether it is due to a defect from the factory, is not yet known. Hyundai has not commented publicly on the complaints yet.

Lawsuits are nothing new. Not even among motorists. On the contrary, angry motorists have sued the car brands over the years for all possible and impossible faults. This has happened, among other things, to Toyota, which some motorists believe has sold 'useless' cars. Read more about it here .
