Danish BMW company closes workshop – everyone is lost

Schmiedmann, who sells parts for and screws BMWs, has had to close his workshop in Odense as the mechanics have left.

One of the companies that is currently feeling that there is a need for mechanics in Denmark is Schmiedmann.

The company has had to close its workshop in Odense because there are no longer any mechanics at the address. They have been offered and have accepted work elsewhere.

That's what Motor magazine writes.

In front of the media, Schmiedmann founder Martin Thorup Andresen does not hide the reason. At the same time, however, he hopes that it is not a question of a permanent but rather a temporary closure.

On the other hand, Martin Thorup Andresen does not believe that it is the largest part of the business that he is now closing down.

The workshop part accounts for just over 2 percent of the company's turnover, the owner states. A turnover that last year contributed to a profit of DKK 11.1 million. A record for the 28-year-old company.

Schmiedmann are not the only ones packing up at the moment. For some companies, however, there is no hope of a temporary closure.

Among other things. the owner of a now bankrupt leasing company has been taken to court because he has cheated and defrauded a Danish celebrity for a large sum of millions. Read more about it here .
