The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid marks a new chapter in Porsche's history with the introduction of hybrid technology in their iconic model.
The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid represents the first time that Porsche has integrated hybrid technology into its famous model range. This new model has been developed with extra power and an innovative powertrain, and is presented at the same time as an update of the entire 911 range.
The new 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid is equipped with a newly developed 3.6-liter boxer engine that works together with two electric motors. The one electric motor is located in the turbo, where it instantly generates boost pressure.
The second engine is integrated into the 8-speed PDK transmission and provides extra horsepower and torque.
A compact high-voltage battery that replaces the traditional 12-volt battery drives the electric motors. The battery can store 1.9 kilowatt hours of current and operates with a voltage of 400 volts. The current for the battery is partially generated by the turbo's electric motor, which also acts as a generator.
The total weight increase of the hybrid technology is limited to 50 kilos. Even without electric assistance, the new boxer engine produces 485 hp, while the electric motors increase the total output to 541 hp and a torque of 610 Nm. This gives an improvement of 61 hp compared to the previous version of the 911 Carrera GTS.

The new 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds and has a top speed of 312 km/h. The car is equipped with Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) and active rear wheel steering as standard.
This model is inspired by motorsport, and Porsche has drawn on experience from their electrified racing cars. "We had to develop and test a wide range of ideas and concepts to arrive at a hybrid system that fits perfectly with a 911," says Frank Moser, head of the 911 and 718 model lines at Porsche.
A pre-production version of the new 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid has already impressed on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a significantly faster lap time than its predecessor.
Along with the introduction of hybrid technology in the 911 Carrera GTS, the new 911 Carrera has received an update. It continues with a twin-turbocharged three-liter boxer engine that has been enhanced with new turbochargers and the intercooler from the 911 Turbo.
The output has increased to 394 hp, and 0-100 km/h is reached in 3.9 seconds.
In terms of design, the new 911 family introduces a new front with integrated light functions and larger air intakes. At the rear, a redesigned light strip and a new engine grille give a wider look, while the number plate has been moved higher up for a sportier look.
Inside, the classic style is continued with new digital functions. The instrumentation is now digital on a 12.6-inch display, and the infotainment system has been improved with deeper integration of Apple CarPlay and the ability to stream video content.
The new Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera GTS Hybrid will be launched as Coupé and Cabriolet with rear-wheel drive, while the Carrera GTS is also available with all-wheel drive and as a Targa.
Prices in Denmark start at DKK 2,454,900 for the 911 Carrera and DKK 3,289,900 for the 911 Carrera GTS. The models can be experienced at Porsche Center Aarhus and Porsche Center Copenhagen in autumn 2024.
