Top director leaves crisis-stricken car brand in the middle of a round of savings

Volkswagen's top sales manager Imelda Labbé has left her position. She herself says that it is for 'personal reasons'.

Volkswagen is in the middle of a crisis. Both when it comes to the German brand's economy and sales figures. And now you have to go out and look for a new sales director.

Imelda Labbé has indeed left her position. And this in the middle of a major round of savings, as sales of electric cars fall.

This is written by the media Handelsblatt .

Officially, Imelda Labbé is leaving her position and with it Volkswagen for 'personal reasons'. The position was taken by Labbé, who is one of the relatively few female top managers in the German car industry, from a position at Opel.

She has also been country director for Skoda in Germany, because she got the position that is now vacant. Labbé's replacement has not yet been appointed. But she is not the only boss who has recently decided to pack up.

At home, Chinese Volvo Cars has also had to say goodbye to its managing director. Sarka Heyna Fuchsova managed to head up Volvo in Denmark for just under four years.

During that period, she had the ultimate responsibility, when the brand threw the pure diesel and petrol cars out of the Danish model program with immediate effect. Read more about it here .

Back in January this year, another female CEO announced that she is shocked by her dismissal from the Danish Lamborghini department.

– It came as a shock.

– I have been incredibly committed and felt great joy in working with an extraordinary brand like Lamborghini, its enthusiastic customers and friendly colleagues in both Denmark, Sweden and not least at the Automobili Lamborghini SpA factory, said Mia Skjoldstrand on the social media LinkedIn.
