Denmark's cheapest new car is an 11-year-old Mitsubishi

The Mitsubishi Space Star was already Denmark's cheapest car. But now the importer is lowering the price of stock cars again.

Mitsubishi in Denmark must probably have a good amount of stock in their warehouses.

Because Denmark's cheapest car, the Mitsubishi Space Star, has just become even cheaper. The car is now available from DKK 122,995.

Back in November last year, the importer wanted DKK 128,995 for the same car. For that kind of money – which has now become slightly fewer kroner – you get a 1,2, 3-cylinder petrol car with 78 horsepower.

It doesn't sound like much, which it isn't. All in all, there is not much to cheer about. Because the car is probably cheap, but there are several reasons for that.

The Space Star, called the Mirage in most other markets, is an 11-year-old car. In other words, it is 11-year-old technology in a slightly refreshed package that you buy.

On the other hand, Mitsubishi is far from being the only car brand to try this kind of thing. Tesla does exactly the same thing.

Despite several updates, the Tesla Model S is exactly as old as the little Mitsubishi. It's just that the Model X, with its 9 years, is an equally old find.

However, the old Tesla models are still significantly younger than what Lada has to offer. After Renault relinquished control of the brand for a few years, the age of the model range has dropped drastically.

In fact, the buyers of new Ladas are now buying 21.5-year-old cars on average. Tesla is far behind. Specifically in seventh place. Read more about it here .

Speaking of Mitsubishi, everyone, including Mitsubishi's European divisions, thought it was all over for them in 2021. The English importer even went so far as to sell off its entire collection of unique cars. Read more about it here .
