10 of the car brand BYD's stores have now burned down

China's BYD blames the latest fire on old wiring in the roof of the store, which is the 10th the brand has now lost.

On Thursday 16 May, the Chinese brand BYD, which believes it has been given the blue stamp in Denmark, lost its 10th business. And for the 10th time it is due to a fire.

The fire broke out on Thursday 16 May, and the flames took large parts of the building and seven cars with them, because a total of seven fire engines managed to get the fire under control.

The local media HK01 screams it.

It is the 10th time that one of BYD's dealers has burned down since 2021. This time older wiring in the building's ceiling is to blame for the fire.

The fire broke out at 12:32 local time in the city of Qingkou, located in the Chinese province of Fujian. And right from the beginning, the flames were judged to be so powerful that the seven fire trucks were called at once.

According to Chinese media, the flames were under control at 13.18 the same day. In a statement after the fire, BYD wrote that it cannot be ruled out that a short circuit in some wires above the ceiling in the building was the cause of the fire.

BYD also denies that anything 'abnormal' has been found in the cars that were destroyed by the flames. However, customers are not necessarily so sure.

In addition to the 10 building fires in BYD's stores, fires have broken out in several of BYD's so-called New Energy Vehicles, while the cars have been parked. It happened late in the month of April this year.
