Ford is recalling 5,000 cars that may not be repairable

It is not only in the United States that Ford is recalling cars. On our broad gauges, the brand has made manufacturing errors that may not be rectified.

Ford may have made such serious welding errors on 5,000 factory-new versions of the Transit van that it may not be able to be fixed. One option is to scrap the cars.

This is written by the German Auto Motor und Sport .

The cars have been sold in several different countries this year. Like the cars are from this and parts of last year's production. The fault lies in the frame itself, which may not be welded well enough.

Therefore, Ford's technicians must now review all of the recalled cars for defects. According to the German media, it is the chassis on the cars that Ford also offers for the conversion of motorhomes that are affected by the poor welding.

Ford states that the error has been detected at the car brand's factory in the Turkish city of Ä°zmit. This concerns cars that are short of the assembly line in the period from 25 October 2023 to 19 February 2024.

Due to the steel construction in the car, there is a risk that the welding defect will not be repairable. If this is the case, the cars must be scrapped. So scrapped. According to the German response to the Swedish Transport Agency, well over 1,000 of the cars are driving around our neighboring country.

The potentially fatal faulty welding isn't Ford's only headache at the moment. In fact, no other car brand has issued as many recalls through 2024. Read more about it here .
