All electric cars look the same, admits the Peugeot boss

If you think all electric cars look the same, this is not an illusion, but reality. At least if you ask Peugeot's boss, Linda Jackson.

– There are many electric cars out there, and they all look the same.

Peugeot's top boss, Linda Jackson, made such a bold announcement when she gave an interview to British Top Gear .

In the same interview, however, the managing director is not too good at avoiding criticism of the competitors.

– I want to praise Peugeot. And I think this is where we can be strongest. Whether you go back to the 205 GTI or look at the new e-3008, both are very different. We would like to continue with it.

But there's one thing the French brand won't be dealing with under Linda Jackson's management. Namely the revival of model names.

Something that the competitors at Ford, Fiat and even the compatriots at Renault are otherwise busy with. For example, the name Renault 5 returns after a 28-year absence. Read more about it here.

– I'm not a fan of bringing retro models to life, emphasizes Linda Jackson.

Conversely, there are many indications that electric cars are having a hard time. At least at the moment. The Peugeot manager's own boss has also said that the group is ready to change its mind about electric cars.

– It may be that the political attitude at that time looks different. It's my job to make sure Stellantis is prepared. We have a plan ready if that were to happen, says Stellantis group director Carlos Tavares to the German Automobilwoche .
