In order to obtain compensation, motorists are now trying computer-manipulated images of damage that may never have been on their cars.
Insurance fraud is nothing new.
But the fact is that motorists are now resorting to digital image editing to make the insurance companies shell out.
Some drivers even use artificial intelligence to make injuries worse than they are. Unless the artificial intelligence is asked to create damage to a car out of nowhere. This is according to a survey by the German insurance company Allianz.
According to the German figures, this kind of fraud and insurance fraud has tripled in number over the past few years. This is due, among other things, to the fact that it has become relatively easy for motorists to use artificial intelligence for this sort of thing in various image editing programs.

The fraudsters among the motorists submit the forged photos along with fake invoices to recover the 'amount'.
– There is fantastic technology out there that makes our lives so much better in many ways. But the sad reality is that fraudsters are using the same technology for illegal purposes, Matt Crabtree, head of Allianz's investigations department, told Auto Express .
