Policeman indicted for driving 200 kilometers per hour

A 48-year-old policeman must explain on Friday next week why he drove up to 200 kilometers per hour with an arrested person in the car.

The police cannot just do as they please. Not even in government cars.

Therefore, in the coming week, a 48-year-old policeman must explain why he drove around West Zealand at up to 200 kilometers per hour. All while he had an arrestee in the car.

The trial against the policeman begins on Friday 17 May. This is written by Ekstra Bladet .

According to the indictment against the officer, which the media refers to, the 48-year-old man has carded too strongly several times, without it being necessary.

In addition to the high speed with an arrested person in the car, the prosecution believes that the officer was driving at least 120 km/h in a 50-zone, up to 140 km/h in urban areas and against the direction of the intersection. On country roads, the officer has maps even faster.

Therefore, the prosecutor's office will take his choir card from him unconditionally and impose a fine on him. But since the conditions are from before March 2021, the officer cannot be convicted of insanity.

On the other hand, the prosecution is looking for the officer to lose the choir card. This means that he must not drive anything other than a small moped. The extent to which this means that the 48-year-old also loses his job is unclear.

If the officer is acquitted, it will not be the first time that one of the law enforcement representatives has been acquitted. This happened, for example, to a drunken officer on Æro in the south Funen sea. Just as a colleague was not punished for beating an elderly lady to death. Read more about it here .
