Bugatti's V16 engine without turbo gets 1,800 horsepower

There will be no turbo pressure on Bugatti's new V16 engine. Neither from one, two, three or four chargers.

When Bugatti unveils the brand's next car in June, it will be completely without turbo pressure. But still with 16 cylinders.

Unlike both the Chiron and the Veyron, the bright Bugatti, which today is owned by Croatian Rimac, now has a V16 engine, and not the W16 engine that was conceived by Volkswagen in its time.

The new engine will also be something of a monster. Literally like that. Rimac's founder, Mate Rimac, says that the engine will be just under 100 centimeters long.

Which is almost 40 centimeters more than the soon-to-be-retired W16 boasted. Bugatti won't say much more at this time.

But according to German Auto Motor und Sport, Bugatti's people at the factory in Molsheim have developed an engine of a whopping 8.3 liters in collaboration with British Cosworth.

To think just a little bit about the environment, Bugatti equips the new monster of an engine with three electric motors. Two of them sit at the front wheels, while the third takes care of the rear axle.

Something that, according to the Germans, will produce an effect of around 1,800 horsepower. By itself, the big V16 will produce a staggering 1,000 horsepower.

Speaking of Mate Rimac, the man best known for building insanely fast electric cars is no longer so sure there's a good idea. In any case, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find buyers for it. Read more about it here .
