Competitor supports Kevin Magnussen: "Smart card"

McLaren's team boss had nothing left for Kevin Magnussen's car after the race in Miami. But internally, there is disagreement about the Dane's conduct.

Kevin Magnussen received one penalty after another at the Miami grand prix last weekend. But it is certainly not everyone who thinks that the Dane did something wrong.

One of them is the winner of the race, McLaren's Lando Norris. In fact, the young Brit strongly disagrees with his team manager Andreas Seidl, who after the race didn't have much left for K-Mag.

But Norris had that. The Briton calls the Dane's carousel clever and compares it to the conditions during the Monaco Grand Prix.

– It's a bit like in Monaco. If your teammate is in 9th place and you overtake and do 'a Fernando' by blocking everything and everyone, you know you will get a penalty.

– But at the same time you save your teammate, who can then make a pit stop. You know you get a penalty, but you do it for the team.

– When you are a competitor, it is cruel to be exposed to. But I think he (Kevin Magnussen, ed.) did something smart, said Norris after the race according to GPblog.com .

Kevin Magnussen was penalized a total of 65 seconds for his cross during the Miami Grand Prix. He can also record an additional 5 penalty points.

Nor did Hamilton have much negative to say about Kevin's Miami carousel:
