New car brand claims to build a car every 76 seconds

It may go quickly. Still, analysts believe that Xiaomi adds up to 10,000 dollars to each and every car.

It has now been three years since the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi announced that it will enter the automotive industry.

And now it has happened. Among other things, with the help of possibly the most criticized car designer of all time. Read more about it here.

Another thing is that it moves quickly on the assembly line. For Xiaomi claims they can spit a new version of their first model, the SU7, off the assembly line every 76 seconds.

There are already signs that things are going too fast. Because even though Xiaomi has orders from more than 70,000 customers, criticism has already started to rain down on the SU7.

The cars, which the factory itself tests, skate around in Chinese traffic. And there have already been several accidents. Accidents that others have recorded and shared on e.g. YouTube.

Among other things, it should be completely crazy with Xiaomi's traction control. Just like the undercarriage, it lives a life of its own.

Elsewhere, the SU7 has grabbed headlines due to multiple lineups. However, it can also be due to an error 40. So the person behind the wheel is to blame.

Xiaomi should not count on the new car to be a golden business either. Analysts estimate that aggressive pricing means that the Chinese lose up to 10,000 dollars, equivalent to 69,400 kroner, every time a new SU7 is built. So every 76 seconds.

Conversely, wild losses in the automotive industry are nothing new. Even a brand like Audi knows this sort of thing. The Germans have just lost a whopping 8 billion kroner in a very short time. Read more about it here .
