6 out of 10: Ok that electric cars cannot cover more than 500 kilometers

6 out of 10 motorists respond in a new survey that it is fine that electric cars cannot cover more than 500 kilometers on a charge.

How far does an electric car need to be able to drive, because you want to get behind the wheel?

As many as 6 out of 10 motorists answer in a new survey that they are willing to compromise on a limit of no more than 500 kilometres. Electric cars therefore need not be able to drive further than that.

This is what Swedish Kvdbil writes in a press release .

– The number of charging stations has increased significantly, and many more charge their electric cars at home compared to three years ago.

– This may probably be contributing to the fact that many feel that a longer range is not necessary. In addition, I think that electric cars have become more common.

– And the fact that more people have become familiar with the technology has made consumers more confident about the offer. says Daniel Odsberg, sales manager at Kvdbil.

Kvdbil's own review of the market for electric cars shows that the average range of the electric cars currently on the market is just under 500 kilometers.

Three years ago, when Kvdbil last conducted a similar survey, only the Tesla Model S and Volkswagen ID.4 reported a range of 500 kilometers or more.

A total of 1,316 people aged 18-79 have been asked about their attitude to the range of electric cars in connection with the survey. Of those, 1,099 had access to a car.
