Woman goes to prison – sat behind the wheel with 1.09 blood alcohol level

A woman drove a car with a blood alcohol level that was more than twice the legal limit of 0.5. But it was not so high that she is a crazy driver. Still, she's going to jail.

A 56-year-old woman from Brenderup on Vestfyn will go to prison for a blood alcohol level of 1.09.

Far more than the permitted 0.5, but far from enough for her blood alcohol level to be equated with madness (which is 2.0 or above, ed.).

This is written by Fyens.dk .

The woman receives the punishment because she has previously been stopped in such a state of influence that it resulted in a suspended sentence and a revocation of the choir card.

In court, the woman herself said that she was too mentally fragile to perform community service. The same was supported by a personal investigation from the Correctional Service, which had been carried out a month before the trial.

Therefore, the woman was sentenced to 10 days of unconditional imprisonment. Just as she must pay a fine of DKK 7,000 and the costs of the case. She has also been disqualified from the choir card for a further three years.

The 56-year-old woman is far from the only one who is taken for drunk driving. And even if this time it wasn't actually a case of crazy driving, it is precisely the alcohol that brings down the vast majority of such drivers.

The National Police's own figures included this already in 2022. Two years later, they have taken almost 3,000 cars from the mad drivers. Hardly as many have been confiscated in the end. Read more about it here .
