Ferrari's Formula 1 team is changing its name

No other car brand is as inextricably linked to Formula 1 as Ferrari. Now the people from Maranello are changing their name.

It doesn't say anything on a modern Formula 1 racer. And certainly not on a Ferrari. But now a computer brand appears anyway.

HP – or Hewlett Packard – and Scuderia Ferrari have entered into a multi-year agreement, which means that the team will change its name after a long period without a main sponsor.

Not as violently as many other Formula 1 teams, though. The Italians make do with 'Scuderia Ferrari HP'.

The partners state this in a press release .

– HP shares our values. That makes them an ideal partner, says Ferrari's managing director, Benedetto Vigna.

The agreement means that Ferrari will change its name now. But that the HP logo first appears from Miami's grand prix. However, it must be corrected shortly. Namely Sunday 5 May

How much Ferrari will get out of the deal is not publicly known. Still, Formula 1 journalist Will Buxton thinks he knows that it is definitely not a pittance that HP is bringing.

On his profile on the social media X, Buxton writes that the agreement will cover 66 percent of Ferrari's budget within the current budget ceiling.

It is not the first time that the American technology giant throws money at visibility in Formula 1. When BMW owned Sauber F1, the Americans were also the main sponsor. And today HP also contributes to the budget of Mercedes' Formula 1 team.
