Is this the BMW E36 with the world's lowest mileage?

It has existed for 28 years. But there hasn't been much asphalt for the calypso red BMW E36 3-Series. In fact, the speedometer shows very few kilometers.

The E36 3-Series was a huge hit for BMW. Overall, the Germans built more than 3 million E36s in several body styles.

There aren't that many left today. Far from actually. However, this is not only because the used car was/is a cheap shortcut to relatively high horsepower and rear-wheel drive.

The model had a weakness to rust attack of the absolutely evil kind. That being said, there are still extremely fine examples of the model out there. One of them is at the dealer Oldenzaal Classics in the Netherlands.

The car, which is from March 5, 1996, has almost no equipment. In fact, the first owner even saved the fog lights away. On the other hand, the original air conditioning system is crossed off the equipment list.

In addition, you won't find much else in the car other than a steering wheel, three pedals, electric windows and electric mirrors (at the front) and, of course, an inline-six engine. 'Unfortunately' only the smallest M50 engine. That is, a two-liter case.

But are you ready for the mileage? Because according to the Dutch dealer, the car has been in storage for most of its life. And you can see it on the trip counter.

In 28 years, it has become just 1,430 kilometres. That's only a little more than 50 kilometers a year! And that kind of thing costs a bit.

Because even if the sky hangs down and several of the rubber strips have become shoes (typical 3 Series mistakes in the 90s, ed.), the dealer wants a whopping 27,500 euros for the car. It is 205,000 Danish kroner, for any registration tax has been paid.

On the other hand, all four original parts come with the car. So do the original Pirelli P6000 tires. After so many years away from the roads, there can't be much to do on the burgundy paint either.

But what do you say? Are there – almost BMW's own examples – cars with lower mileage out there?

And yes, we have checked mobile.de. PS : There is a similar copy at the same Dutch dealer.
