43-year-old Fynbo loses his driving license due to bad brakes

A 43-year-old lorry driver from Funen received a fine of DKK 2,500 on Thursday this week and a conditional disqualification from the right of way due to bad brakes.

Back in May 2022, a 43-year-old lorry driver was stopped by the South East Jutland Police and brought in for a heavy vehicle inspection.

However, it is only now that he loses his choir card and has to pay a fee to the state treasury. The police district writes this in a press release.

The inspection showed that the brakes on the lorry did not meet the applicable requirements. A car inspector called in assessed that there was a high risk that the truck train would skid – that is, that the semi-trailer would skid – in the event of a braking manoeuvre.

And as a lorry driver, you have a duty to check that this sort of thing cannot happen with the lorry. In the district court in Svendborg, the driver contested the punishment.

It is not the first time that serious errors in choir uniforms cost the choir card. And especially not for the drivers who otherwise live off their correcards.

Conversely, there are also many other things that you can lose your driving license for on Danish roads. And for quite a few years. A 36-year-old woman had to admit that, even though she started crying in court. Read more about that case here.
