Known for building a car with 1,800 hp – now they want to build one with 6 wheels!

Hennessey is and has never been like most car builders. And now the crazy Americans want to build something crazy. So again.

You would think that the pursuit of top speed – i.e. as in the attempt to get the world's fastest series-produced car – would be enough for most people. But Hennessey is not like most. That's why they don't work like most at the factory in Texas either. Most recently, the tuner, who also builds cars on his own, has tackled a project with six wheels. Yes, you read that right – six wheels. And not only that. The six-wheeled case – it's sour here – will be Hennessey's first electric car. Founder: It's a family car A monster that gets its six wheels forward with 2,400 horsepower. The car has so far been named Project Deep Space, and when Hennessey first presented the plans for the car last year, it was with the words that it will have room for four adults. That's how it still is. In fact, founder John Hennessey explained that it is not a supercar. Deep Space – or whatever it will eventually be called – will be a family car, he tells Autocar . Believe it or not. – I was waiting for battery technology to get better and lighter, but it's not enough yet. Two and a half years ago, I thought, what if weight wasn't an issue? What if our first electric car wasn't a supercar. 1,000 kilometers between charging stations In other words, the car is more of a super-GT than anything else. That is, with the addition that this Grandtourer actually has room for more people than the two in front. In terms of performance, Hennessey reckons that the car can 'get by' with 400 horsepower per wheel. So 2,400 horsepower in total. And unless you did nothing but kick to full horsepower all the time and always, there should also be a long time between charging times. Hennessey itself expects a range of 1,000 kilometers in the battery. When can we, standing outside the factory, expect to see more of the six-wheeled monster? Well, Hennessey himself aims to give the car its debut in the year 2026. Before then, however, Hennessey will produce prototypes, so that we get 'little things' like the car's interior to see before the premiere.
