Test: Lamborghini Urus – a mega bull on a walk in the woods

With 650 hp from a V8 biturbo engine, the Lamborghini Urus drives through a Danish winter forest completely indifferent to its combat weight of 2.2 tons.

Let me be honest. My expectations for the Urus were that it would basically be an Audi Q8 with more power. I was mistaken! Urus is all its own. Lamborghini emphasizes this by inventing its own car category, 'S-SUV'. It stands for Super Sports Utility Vehicle. The Lamborghini Urus manages to combine a practical luxury family car with the power of a super sports car – and at the same time make it entertaining on winding roads, Bil Magasinet writes. Even though the car is equipped with 22" winter wheels, steering and feedback through the steering wheel is convincingly good. Should be on a sunny racetrack The car is equipped with active anti-roll bars, which discreetly keep the body under control and eliminate any kind of rocking sensation. But the grip is not infinite, and with 650 hp at the end of my right foot, it doesn't take much to provoke an oversteer on the wet surface. But here Urus just behaves like a big good-natured bear that has come on a weak wobbly course. Things happen relatively slowly and it is easy to predict. The temperature gauge is at four degrees and the rain is pouring down, and I have to admit that I dream away to a dry race track and at least 20 degrees, because here the Lamborghini Urus will undoubtedly make an even bigger impression. Urus looks like a Lamborghini in the cabin You might have feared that the Urus would look like an Audi in the cabin, but that is not the case. I have no doubt at any time that I am sitting in a Lamborghini. But here and there the close relationship with Audi is revealed. Especially the steering wheel control and the two-part screens are lifted straight out of an Audi, but this is overshadowed by a sea of unique Lamborghini details. The messy F16-inspired start button and the digital instruments alone scream Lamborghini. The test car is the 4-seater version, where the typical rear seat bench is scrapped in favor of two individual chairs, which are identical to the front seats. The space is good, and the ceiling height is no problem with my 187 cm. Click 'NEXT PAGE' to read on
