New investigation: Denmark's worst drivers live here

A mapping from the comparison portal Samlino.dk shows where Denmark's worst drivers drive around. At least when you do that kind of damage.

If you think that all the drivers around you are driving badly, you might not be entirely right. It could be that you live in the wrong place.

A new report has indeed mapped where Denmark's worst drivers live. At least when you do this kind of damage to cars.

This is written by the comparison portal Samlino.dk.

Data shows that the number of injuries has increased significantly. Understood in the sense that since 2021 there have been significantly more car owners with at least one injury.

In 2021, it was 8 percent of car owners who had experienced an injury, a share that has grown to 19 percent in 2024 – an increase of as much as 138 percent.

The data collection is based on over 1,340,000 postings from January 1, 2021 to April 4, 2024. Here, motorists have provided addresses, damage over the past six years and compared car insurance policies.

And the worst – if you can put it that way – is on Bornholm. Here, the number of car owners with at least one insurance claim on their conscience has increased by as much as 186 percent.

This is followed by the central and western Jutlands with an increase of 171 percent. This is also how it looks in Central and West Zealand. But even for the drivers with the 'best' behavior, things are bad.

Because although the people of North Jutland are the best at escaping the injury statistics seen over a 3-year period, the number of car owners in the region with at least one injury has also increased significantly. Namely with a whopping 110 percent.

Car damage is nothing new at all. In fact, this sort of thing is pretty well described by now.

For example, a report from the industry organization Forsikring- og Pension last year showed that BMW owners fill up the claims statistics well.

However, this does not mean that BMW owners smash into everything and everyone on the roads. In fact, it is often minor damage that adds up. However, the report also reveals which car owners are the 'best', or with the fewest injuries. Read more about it here .
