The police warn against car collisions in Randers – seized 20 cars last year

Last year, 20 cars were impounded at a large car encounter in Randers – yet the encounter is repeated this year. And the police are particularly aware of that.

The police know very well that a major car crash is coming to Rander on Monday. It all takes place at the choir technical facility at Jomfrulokken in north-eastern Randers from 2pm to 8pm.

The Order expects several thousand participants. Last year, it resulted in 20 seizures and as many as 113 charges for various violations of the law.

East Jutland's Police also believe that several times they prevented short illegal street races in several places in the district on the same day.

– We know from experience that many people from around the country and abroad are interested in participating in these car meets.

– That is why we are also very aware of the traffic challenges that we expect on Thursday in and around the city of Randers, says Police Commissioner Amrik Chadha from East Jutland Police in a press release .

For the same reason, the police say that they will be visibly present throughout the day – and not just during the meeting itself. Especially because later in the day a legal street race will take place on Frederiksdalsvej in the city.

In addition, an eye will be kept on whether motorists are generally staying within the framework of the Road Traffic Act.

– Last year we handed out a number of charges, while several cars were impounded, and a number of drivers had their driving license suspended.

– We encourage road users to comply with the provisions of the Road Traffic Act and to use the recommended route in order to avoid traffic jams, says East Jutland Police.
