Ford recalls accessories that fly off cars

Ford Bronco owners who paid for the dealer to put a so-called hood scoop on the bonnet must now hand it in again.

A number of Ford dealers have screwed up.

The so-called hoodscoop on the new Bronco model, which is factory equipment, but which is actually mostly for decoration, can fly off the cars.

Therefore, the Bronco owners, who have paid 399 dollars for this kind of decoration, must now hand it back to Ford. The car brand has not said anything about what exactly causes the element on the bonnet to fly off.

But it doesn't sit properly. Therefore, the Bronco owners must now have their money back. Ford first became aware of the problem in 2021, when a car owner drew attention to the flying decoration.

Since then, Ford has been made aware of a further 23 cases in the North American market where the hood scoop has either become detached or completely blown away by the wind across the car.

There are indications, however, that in certain cases the error may have been the dealers' fault. The instructions from the factory have not been followed exactly.

However, Ford says at the same time that it is not aware of any cases where people have been injured as a result of the error. The fault is also immediately only to be found on the Bronco Sport model. A version of the Bronco which is not available in Denmark. Read more about it here .
