Honda's new car brand will not come to Denmark at all

Honda's new car brand, Ye, shares a name with an American rapper, but otherwise has little in common with the great country. Or Europe for that matter.

Unless you move to the other side of the Earth, you will never see anything for Honda's new car brand.

'Ye', as the Japanese call it, is only intended for Chinese drivers. On the other hand, it is Honda's hope that in this way they can take on the Chinese drivers with their own BYD brand.

Honda – or Ye – already has two models ready for the Chinese. Or that is, the cars – Ye P7 and P5 – will not hit the roads until later this year.

Towards the end of 2025, these cars will be joined by a so-called GT model, because Ye is ready to launch three more models from the assembly line in 2027.

According to Honda, Ye, which translates to 'shiny' in Chinese, should emphasize the joy of buying a car and individuality.

However, the latter in particular harmonizes really poorly with the general tactics of the communist dictatorship, which has been criticized several times for undermining basic human rights.

Honda aren't the only ones dabbling in sub-brands in China. The country's own car industry is already overflowing with sub-brands belonging to more or less well-known car brands.

One such sub-brand is currently rumored to be teaming up with British-Indian Jaguar Land Rover in pursuit of a faster transition to electric car production.

However, Honda is not only working with the Chinese. In fact, it has just teamed up with Nissan in pursuit of exactly the same thing that Ye needs to achieve in China. Read more about it here .
