A 76-year-old woman died when she was hit by an emergency police car in her Subaru. Back in January, the officer behind the wheel was acquitted.
An officer was acquitted in January by the District Court in Roskilde, after he pulled over a 76-year-old woman in a Subaru back in September last year.
Both the woman and the officer were on Strandvejen in Koge when the accident happened. But the court did not think that it was proven that the officer acted recklessly when he hit the elderly woman.

Shortly before the collision, the speed of the patrol car had otherwise been up to 180 km/h, because the officers in the car were on their way to another traffic accident. When the accident happened, the officer was doing 130 km/h.

Subsequently, a car inspector concluded that the woman could well have managed to interrupt the u-turn she was making.
The woman in the Subaru died after the accident. But the two officers in the police patrol car received only minor injuries.
In the District Court, it also emerged that the officer had tried to brake and avoid the woman, who was making a U-turn, two seconds before the accident.
Witnesses explained that there were good visibility conditions on the road and that the road was generally in good condition when the patrol car hit the elderly driver.
Nevertheless, a judge did not think that the officer behind the wheel violated either the emergency order or the traffic law in general in connection with the accident.
