The unity list will force the Danes to support electric cars

Enhedslisten will introduce a new tax on private million-dollar assets and on the banking sector's 'very large profits'.

Enhedslisten will introduce new taxes on Danes' private assets that exceed 'millions'. At the same time, the banking sector's 'very large profits' must be taxed.

The party expects that will scrape billions of kroner into the state coffers. The party proposes something atypical to spend the money on cars.

Ritzau writes that.

With the money from the increased taxes, Enhedslisten will carry out the creation of a fund, which will manage state grants for leasing electric cars.

But the offer must only be for people in the sparsely populated areas. On the other hand, the price for leasing must be kept very low. All the way down to 1,000 kroner a month, suggests the party, which until a few years ago advocated armed revolution in Denmark.

On the other hand, Enhedslisten will ensure that more fossil-fuel cars are scrapped with the scheme, according to the party's proposal.

On the social media 'X', Mads Rorvig, managing director of De Danske Bilimportorer, believes that Enhedslisten has a point.

– Enhedslisten and Pelle Dragsted have a point. The drastic change will not happen by itself.

– New green technology is still significantly more expensive than old technology and needs support – where we propose to stop the upcoming tax increases on electric cars, writes the director.

However, Enhedslist's proposal is not particularly original. Which the party also acknowledges. The proposal is similar to one for one that France recently had to shut down again. Read more about it here .
