Older drivers prefer the same car brands and models. In general, the SUVs dominate, shows a new German survey.
The oldest drivers prefer the same features of cars, namely an easy entry into a slightly higher car, sitting high and a good overview of the traffic.
That leaves one type of car: the SUV.
And according to a new survey by German Verivox, it is also the type of car most older drivers drive.
Among the 70 to 79-year-old drivers, it is clearly the SUV that is at the top. In fact, the choice of the SUV is 60 percent above the average of what motorists generally choose.

The opposite is true among the 18 to 29-year-olds. Here, the choice of an SUV is a whopping 66 percent below average.
In general, however, it can be said that the older the driver, the higher the importance placed on features such as comfort and easy entry and exit.
Therefore, car types such as crossovers and SUVs suit the elderly well. The figures also show that older drivers actually choose these cars. But in which car is the average age behind the wheel the highest?
It is the one in a Skoda Yeti. On average, people who run around in the now discontinued Czech Republic are 60.5 years old. While 44.3 percent of the owners are actually 65 or older. The Mercedes B-Class also pulls the average age up well.
On average, a B-Class owner is 58.9 years old. While it only gets a little younger in an Audi Q3, namely 58 years.
The youngest of the "elderly" are the motorists who choose a new Seat Alhambra. Here, the average age is 45.3 years. While only 5.2 percent of the owners are 65 or older.
If we are just going to reverse the older drivers' counterparts, they are now trying to lure the youngest drivers out of certain cars with money.
The lure is initially aimed at 18 to 25-year-old drivers. They, in turn, must deliver the cars to the car dealers. Read more about it here .
