Burning inside with 46,000 editions of Denmark's most popular car

The latest financials aren't the only thing disappointing in Tesla-land at the moment. The car brand has also built far too many cars.

Here at home, the price of Denmark's most popular car – a Tesla Model Y – has recently seen a serious increase.

But it is not like that everywhere. In the home market in the United States, Tesla is currently trying huge price reductions. The brand has to get rid of a lot of cars.

Bloomberg writes that.

Specifically, Tesla has built 46,561 cars, which the brand has not been able to sell during the first quarter of 2024. To get rid of them, the prices are now drastically reduced.

This applies, among other things, to Model Y Performance and Long Range. Both models immediately drop $5,000 on Tesla's list of stock cars.

In addition, the Americans can deduct 7,500 dollars from the price of the cars. This is money that most new electric cars can pocket in tax rebates for their owners.

Thus, the price of a Tesla Model Y in the USA starts at DKK 223,550. By comparison, the cheapest Model Y costs DKK 360,000 in Denmark, if you don't have the courage to go hunting in Tesla's inventory.

Tesla's limping financial results are causing analysts to turn on the messy warning lights. One Swedish analyst in particular is beating the drum that Tesla may end up going bankrupt. Read more about it here .
