First, the BBC put the iconic motoring program Top Gear on hold. Soon after, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond left The Grand Tour, leaving Amazon Prime in the same situation.
Ever since, the fate of both programs has been in limbo. But now it is rumored that Amazon is ready to breathe new life into the latter.

Allegedly, the production company Studio Lambert has won the bidding round for a relaunch of the programme.

This has happened ahead of competitors such as Shine TV and Orchard Studios. The latter was founded by a former Amazon executive.
The plans for a new edition of 'The Grand Tour' have not yet progressed so far that the format has been given the green light. But Studio Lambert is therefore working on a bid that may get the thumbs up.
When it comes to the hosting role – or rather the hosting roles – there will be very big shoes to fill. An anonymous source 'with knowledge of the industry' described the problem to The Sun newspaper.
– The Grand Tour is one of Prime Video's most watched programmes. Jeremy, James and Richard have a devoted following. But they have also made no secret of the fact that they are getting older and that they have a lot of other projects lying around, it says.
As far as the BBC and Top Gear are concerned, there hasn't really been anything to talk about. At least not since the TV station confirmed last November that the TV program itself is shutting down.
