In Aarhus, you prefer to see the cars disappear. Therefore, the politicians will now divide the city into prohibition zones, close down parking spaces and introduce road pricing.
It must be forbidden for cars to drive through Aarhus as a city. In Jutland's largest city, the politicians will introduce so-called mobility zones, through which cars may not drive.

Aarhus Municipality's mobility plan was presented this week, and it is not good news for people in cars. The politicians are not only planning to close several of the city's roads, in some places only electric cars must be allowed.
And then the politicians will look at the possibility of introducing road pricing. This kind of thing is not new in Denmark. But should the Aarhus politicians succeed in introducing this type of toll, it will be a first-time case in our country.

In 2011, the then S-SF and R government proposed to put a toll ring around Copenhagen. That would force an extra 1.5 billion kroner out of motorists' pockets every year.
At the time, however, the plan met with so much opposition that the government had to drop it again. 13 years later, it all looks somewhat different.
In Aarhus, in addition to road pricing, several thousand parking spaces will also be closed. Just as a zero emission zone must be introduced. However, the Jutland city is not alone in pursuing motorists.
The same is happening in Copenhagen, Odense and even in Gladsaxe. The latter also introduced a nationwide ban from November 1973 to February 1974. Read more about it here .
