Activists thrown out – threw oil on electric car on display

A group of climate activists has again attacked a car exhibition. This time in New York, where they poured oil over a Ford F-150 Lightning – i.e. an electric car.

At the weekend, a group of climate activists were thrown out of the New York Auto Show after pouring oil over a number of electric cars on display, including a Ford F-150 Lightning.

A car model like Ford in general has more than a hard time selling and is therefore now cutting back on production. Read more about it here .

Back to the activists. They call themselves Extinction Rebellion. And while oil was poured on the electric cars, the activists shouted that there are 'no electric cars on a dead planet'.

Subsequently, the activists stated that they were not after the car enthusiasts, but rather the industry behind the electric car itself.

– We are not protesting against people who love cars, we are protesting against the addiction to cars.

– The majority of emissions from the car industry do not come from car enthusiasts, but from people who have no choice but to take the car, said activist Mark Graham, who himself participated in the action in New York.

The group, of which Mark Graham is a member, claims that electric cars do not emit anything. Rather, electric cars replace one useless form of transport with another.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time angry climate activists have vandalized a car exhibition. Last year it happened in Germany.

And in 2022, a group of activists invaded the Paris Motor Show, glued themselves to a number of Ferraris and demanded that all car advertising be banned. Read more about it here .
