Porsche is also taking the V8 engine into the next decade, but new requirements mean it will be a more muted experience.
Porsche knows that their current 4-liter V8 engine will be able to meet the upcoming Euro 7 emission requirements.
Political nol and negotiations also mean that the Germans get extra time to develop it. Because even if the future emission requirements have been adopted, they will not apply in 2027, as was otherwise the plan.
Instead, the car brands' deadline to comply with the upcoming set of rules, which is not very different from the current Euro 6 rules, has been pushed to 2030.
And now Porsche's Thomas Freimuth, who is responsible for the Panamera model, confirms that the V8 engine will survive and be taken into the new decade.
