BMW is recalling 800,000 diesel cars that can catch fire

BMW has repeatedly recalled diesel cars with problematic EGR chokes. Some cars several times. And now it's crazy again.

BMW has to go through a major recall again, because the German brand has no control over the so-called EGR carbon found in their diesel cars.

This time it concerns 800,000 cars that the Germans have built between 2021 and 2022. Those cars have the same technical problem that several Danes have already faced.

That's what Auto Motor und Sport writes.

Last year, Ekstra Bladet was able to reveal how several Danes had to see their cars burning up around the country.

Some of the cars had even been recalled – and rounded up a workshop – precisely because of the problematic EGR boiler.

Faced with the media, however, BMW in Denmark largely refused to deal with the matter. Instead, they referred to the German head office in Munich.

Now it is so crazy again with another 800,000 cars. The problem lies in the fact that a leak can occur on the coal hoses. This causes the coolant to leak out and, mixed with soot particles, can in the worst case start a fire in the car.

A BMW spokesperson admits to Auto Motor und Sport that the brand initially did not do well enough. Not even if BMW has changed suppliers.

The Danish importer must not contact the owners of the cars that BMW believes may be affected directly. It therefore takes place through the motor register if there are Danish-registered cars among them.
