Two municipalities buy Chinese cars for home care

The Chinese brand BYD has won the bidding round in two Danish municipalities and will now supply cars to the cities' home care.

In Holstebro, home care will henceforth be part of BYD. Specifically, there are 93 Chinese cars on the way, after the brand won a municipal tender.

Also in Hoje Taastrup, the Chinese have settled on the home care car park with 65 new cars. This is what the brand says in a press release .

The 93 of the cars will land in Holstebro at the end of October this year. It concerns the model Dolphin, while in Hoje Taastrup they have chosen the model Atto 3.

At BYD, sales manager Charlotte Ejlertsen believes that by winning the tender round in Hoje Taastrup, the Chinese brand has received a blue stamp in Denmark.

– The agreement with Hoje Taastrup Municipality is a seal of approval from BYD, which we are naturally happy about.

– We are convinced that it will also show the way for other public institutions in Denmark when they have to electrify their vehicle fleet. Both price, quality and equipment make BYD an attractive car brand for both private and public institutions in Denmark, says the sales manager.

While BYD may well win public tenders, things are immediately worse for the Danes in general. Between 1 January and 29 February this year, the brand only managed to get 272 new cars on Danish number plates. This corresponds to just under 1.4 percent of the market.

It is not known whether the police will take a closer look at the home care's upcoming Chinese cars. But what is certain is that recently both cocaine and sniffer were found in just one car from the home care.

The police asked for the car to be handed over so that a drug dog could go through it for further clues. Read more about the matter here .
