Replacement found after giant charging operator sacked

The country's largest charging operator Clever could not manage two charging parks on Funen. At least not according to the contract.

In any case, the Road Directorate already concluded last year that the charging operator had breached the contracts on the two charging parks Lillebælt North and South, by giving too much of a discount to its own customers.

But now the replacements have been found. Or rather: the replacements. It will be from E:on Drive Infrastructure, PowerGo BV and Ewii, with whom Clever will now have to compete for the two places.

This is stated by the Road Directorate in a press release .

With the new offer, the authorities hope to be able to increase competition among the various charging providers. Something that will ultimately benefit motorists.

– The supply of the charging parks has this time been divided into four sub-agreements, so that several operators have been able to bid for and thus also win the task.

– E.on Drive Infrastructure, PowerGo BV and Ewii ended up winning, and we are looking forward to the future collaboration, says project manager Jesper Kaae from the Road Directorate.

It also appears from the press release that a total of 10 charging operators will take on the task, which Clever must now share with others.

The funds for the charging parks on Funen come from Infrastructure Plan 2035, which in the summer of 2021 set aside DKK 160 billion for infrastructure projects in Denmark.
