For the second month in a row, it seems that the Dacia Sandero is Europeans' top choice, at least when it comes to new cars.
It may well be that the Tesla Model Y is popular here at home, but it is nothing compared to how popular the budget brand Dacia is when the whole of Europe is taken into account.
This is shown by preliminary data from Dataforce, which so far has data from 98 percent of all car sales in Europe, plus countries such as Iceland, Norway, England and Switzerland that are not part of the EU.

The preliminary figures suggest that the Dacia Sandero is beating the Tesla Model Y with 20,372 sales. The Tesla has to make do with 19,795 sales, while 19,047 new Volkswagen Golfs were registered in the same period.

And it's not just on European roads as a whole that Tesla is losing ground. Here at home, the second-hand market has also found a reverse gear.
