Introduction of Seres and other potential car brands from China is now being put on hold by the Danish importer following threats of import duties from the EU.
They should have been here. So the Chinese car brand Seres. And possibly several others. But as it stands right now, that's not going to happen.
In any case, the potential importer KW Bruun has put the plans on hold. The importer's PR manager Hanne Langsig Sorensen tells Bil Magasinet .
It is the threat of import duties specifically on electric cars from China that is now causing the Danish importer to reconsider the situation.
As early as this summer – more precisely in July – the EU may be ready with provisional customs rules for cars from China.

And as Boosted has previously told, it is not only new electric cars that the EU is considering to hit with tighter customs rules.
The EU Commission believes that it has evidence that the Chinese government supports the country's car industry illegally. It is also being considered whether the penalty duty should be able to be introduced retroactively. Read more about it here .
Another car brand which is currently considering how to get to Europe is the crisis-stricken Rivian.
The brand is American and therefore does not need to fear the same punitive tariffs that the Chinese are facing at the moment. The car Rivian would very much like to send to Europe is called the R2.
