Tesla ready with bad news about Denmark's most popular car

It is Denmark's most popular car. But in just a little while, the Tesla Model Y will be significantly more expensive to purchase.

Most people in the car industry believe that the Tesla Model Y is ready for retirement. The model has been on the road since 2020. If nothing else, it's time for a facelift.

For the same reason, just as many in the auto industry had expected Tesla to start a final sprint with wild discounts. But that doesn't seem to be happening.

In fact, the exact opposite happens. The American brand has announced that the price of Model Y will increase significantly.

From Friday 22 March, the price of the Model Y will rise by DKK 15,000 in a number of European countries.

In a comment to Ekstra Bladet , FDM predicts that Denmark is 'probably' also included in that list of countries.

It was not long ago that Tesla cut 10 percent, equivalent to DKK 38,000, from the price of the Model Y. And the new price hike may not be cunning, but at least deliberate on Tesla's part.

– They send a signal that if you order before March 22, you will not be affected by this, says the organization's consumer economist Ilyas Dogru to the media.

The price jump may also be a signal that the updated Model Y, which many are probably waiting for, is not just around the corner, according to the consumer economist.

However, Ilyas Dogru represents an organization that has received fierce criticism in recent days. So violent, in fact, that the director had to defend himself. Read more about it here .
