The state can throw an 18-year-old in prison for going for a ride in his mother's car

On Friday afternoon last week, an 18-year-old man had borrowed his mother's car. It was his last choir tour for several years.

On Friday afternoon last week, the South and Sonderjylland Police stopped yet another crazy driver with far too much speed along Arnumvej in Spandet near Ribe, which is an urban area.

The police circle says so in a press release .

According to the Southern and Southern Jutland Police, it was a colleague on a motorcycle who measured the car's speed at at least 109 km/h.

For the same reason, the car was impounded with a view to later confiscation. Subsequently, the car's 18-year-old driver had to tell his mother that she no longer has a car.

According to the police, the 18-year-old had only had the choir card for three months when it was taken from him over the weekend.

The punishment for the madness does not end here, however. Because the young, now former driver can look forward to a legal aftermath, where he risks 20 days of unconditional imprisonment.

He can forget all about the choir card for a period of 3 years. However, the young man is far from the only one who has recently had to hand over both his choir card and car to law enforcement.

Recently, the district court in Næstved, for example, confiscated a particularly potent Audi. It is possibly the first time that the Danish state owns one.

On Sunday 25 February, the Copenhagen Police could also say that another such Audi was briefly in the 'trap'. On the social media "X", the police circle states that the car was measured at at least 114 km/h on Borups Allé, which is an urban zone, in Copenhagen. Read more about both cases here .
