Toyota is recalling 281,000 cars that drive 6 km/h by themselves

These days, Toyota has to recall almost 700,000 cars that have serious problems.

The Toyota Tacoma is built to be tough. But it is not perfect. For now, Toyota has found a rather serious problem on the rear axle.

Or rather with the rear axle. The welding from the factory now turns out to be so questionable that the screws that hold the whole thing together can shake loose. In the worst case, the anti-lock brakes could fall off on as many as 381,000 cars.

Toyota says the brand is not aware of any motorists being injured as a result of the defect. But that does not change the fact that the many hundreds of thousands of cars need to be repaired.

And it is actually not the only recall that Toyota has to go into. In the coming time, the Japanese will ask another 281,663 owners of Tundra, Sequoia and Lexus LX600 models to visit a brand workshop.

That's what Motor1 writes.

These cars may have problems with the gearbox. The Japanese say the cars may have trouble finding neutral.

This means that cars affected by the fault can roll forward at up to 6 kilometers per hour. Toyota says here that the problem is due to a clutch that does not 'disengage' properly.

Contrary to the problems with the many rear axles, however, the brand believes it can tame the lob gearboxes with a software update.

However, the Japanese brand is far from the only one that has recently had to recall an awful lot of cars. In fact, the 662,000 are small things in some eyes.

A brand recalled 2.6 million cars just before the New Year and is now afraid to lobby for spare parts. Read more here .
